I love to write. I love dogs. I love power tools. If only I could teach the dog to write about power tools, I could go on Letterman’s Stupid Pet Tricks and never work again.
But until then, you can find me on several writing sites, honing my craft. Or as I refer to it sometimes, slapping a tube top and skirt on my work and dropping it off on the corner to earn a living.
I have always been a poet and a fiction writer. In 2008, I finally had some of my poetry and one of my flash fiction pieces published but I’ve never tried novel writing until recently. It’s been interesting trying to turn my short story skills into novel writing skills.
Okay, now for the boring stuff. I have a BA in English from Morehead State University, a teaching degree that I do not use, a couple of minors including History and Creative Writing. I love learning new things each year. The list of things I’ve tried is quite varied.
I spent a year as a stand-up comedian. I taught myself to tile floors, to knit, and to draw. I even tried belly dancing. However, I couldn’t never figure out which belly to use so I doubt that I’ll do that again.
I’ve tagged logs, sold satellite dishes door to door, worked sales, and in customer service. For the most part, I’m open. I’ll try it. I’ll probably suck but I’ll try it anyway.
Hope we can be writing buddies soon!
